Safety

Safety is a key function of our success at Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. Our commitment to our employees having a safe and healthy workplace is one of the reasons we employ a full-time Safety Manager and Safety Coordinator. Among other duties, the Safety Department ensures that we maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as trains the staff on proper work and safety procedures. A primary goal of our safety program is to ensure that our people go home the way that they come to work.

Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. has implemented several safety programs, including:

• Compliance with OSHA and VOSH Standards
• Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Program (voluntary compliance inspections)
• Substance Abuse Policy
• Written Hazard Communication Program
• Confined Space Entry Program (and Virginia specific Program)
• Lockout / Tagout Program
• Equipment Training and Licensing

Our people take safety very seriously, and it shows. In 2012, we surpassed 5.5 million hours worked without a lost time injury. We are the first mechanical contractor in Virginia to attain SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) worksite status. Training

Employee training is a priority at Riddleberger Brothers, Inc.  Our registered apprenticeship training program has been around for over 60 continuous years with programs for Plumber/Steamfitter, HVAC Technician, Welder, and Electrician.  We have apprentices attending classes at a variety of training providers including technical schools and community colleges. 

In addition to apprenticeships, Riddleberger Brothers invests heavily in factory and vendor training to ensure employees are well-schooled with the up-to-date skills to install and maintain the latest technologies.  Sales, IT, project management, leadership and supervision are just some of the training topics Riddleberger Brothers regularly offers to employees.

We also offer a tuition-assistance program to those who wish to pursue educational opportunities beyond apprenticeship.
