Today we’d like to spotlight one of our Plumbing Technicians, Ronald Miller, as he approaches his 23rd year at RBI! Despite having the title of Plumbing Technician, he completed an HVAC Apprenticeship during his time here and is cross-trained in HVAC as well. Thank you, Ronald, for your hard work and congratulations on 23 years!
Last month we had the pleasure of hosting students and instructors from Massanutten Technical Center as they toured our facility! Participants from the electrical, HVAC, welding, and architecture and design programs visited to tour both our plumbing and sheet metal shops, hear about career opportunities, and learn about the technology we use on the job.
We had a great time at the recent Career Day event hosted at William Monroe High School! The event welcomed students of all grade levels from Greene County, where they got to learn about different careers, interact with company vehicles, and even dress up as what they want to be when they grow up.
For his rockstar attitude, commitment to his work, and overall excellence, we’d like to congratulate Jeff Whetzel as this month’s ACE award winner! Thank you, Jeff, for your dedication, hard work, and attention to detail!
The Safety Champion for the month of October is Clint Dean! Clint was nominated for properly utilizing the required PPE, which prevented a more serious injury from occurring.
Our new office and training room addition is quickly taking shape. MEP rough-ins are almost complete with RTUs sitting on the roof. Drywall, exterior EIFS, and interior finishes are starting, so our highly anticipated move-in is fast approaching. We can’t wait to see the finished facility and start utilizing it with our employees.
The Safety Champion for the month of September is Adam Ruddle! Adam was nominated for consistently practicing good safe work habits and always wearing his PPE. Thank you, Adam, for your commitment to workplace safety and for setting a good example for others.
Today we want to spotlight one of our Service Field Supervisors, Sam Brown! Sam started with us back in 2006 as an HVAC Technician’s Helper and has been invaluable to our team ever since. He was first drawn to the HVAC trade after speaking with an instructor at a career day event and enjoys the problem-solving aspect of the job. His favorite part is getting to work on different projects and pushing himself to learn new things with each task.
Over three thousand students attended this year’s Worlds of Work event at Shenandoah University and we were so excited to participate in the event! Worlds of Work allows middle school-aged students to visit and interact with local businesses and public services to explore available career paths. The expo is designed to be a fun and interactive way for them to gather information about skills and education required for careers in industries they may wish to pursue. This event in particular saw students attend from Clarke, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, and Warren counties, as well as the City of Winchester.
Fall protection was the highlight of our training earlier this month as we hosted another Safety Breakfast and Learn event in Mt. Crawford. Thank you to all the RBI employees who came out and participated. We are proud to continue hosting these events to help reinforce safe work habits.
